Rethinking Elder Nutrition - Ngaire Hobbins (Brain Body Food)

Today we’re taking an in-depth look at food, nutrition and dining in residential aged care with the help of Ngaire Hobbins.

Ngaire is a dietician, author and consultant whose work focuses on addressing some of the poor and unhelpful dietary information for older adults. As it turns out older adults may need to follow the exact opposite instructions to what you’d expect, to keep them safe from injury and illness and Ngaire really clarifies this misunderstanding in the episode.

She also talks about how we’re putting the cart before the horse with our fixation on nutrition, and why our first priority should be that the food is being eaten in residential care.
